The Resistance Intelligence Service (RIS) is an intelligence agency within the nation of Aurelia involved in matters of state security and intelligence gathering. It is the rival organization of the Imperial Intelligence Agency.
History[]
In the early days of Aurelia's formation, it was heavily disorganized as it was only a loose network of spies. It was formed after The Shift, when the need for a structured intelligence service was realized. In 2095, the RIS was established on the Aurelia controlled planet of Zarus and Irina Volkov was placed in charge.
Wartime[]
The RIS is engaged in many operations to combat the Galactic Imperium. A strong rivalry exists between the RIS and the Imperium's Imperial Intelligence Agency. It is hinted that Irina Volkov is involved in an affair with the Director of the IIA, Arthur Savile . Both agencies at one point agreed to work together to destroy a dangerous superweapon to prevent mutually assured destruction, but had the secret intent of creating their own versions of the weapon.

The primary Headquarters are located in Zarus but through the years, other secret facilities have been established wherever suitable.
